John:

I'm really excited about today's topic because I know it's something

John:

that comes up in client management quite a bit and it's a bit of a pain

John:

point for clients and for us because there's no clear guidelines, I guess

John:

for when we're creating assets for Pex.

John:

, they're.

John:

Are a ton of ton of people that really struggle with video content.

John:

One, because getting honestly, good video content is pretty expensive,

John:

and two, it takes a lot of time.

John:

Hello everyone.

John:

Welcome back to another episode of Gads Girls.

John:

I am one of your many hosts, and by many I mean three . My name's Mel.

John:

And joining me today we have client manager team lead, Andrew with us.

John:

Hello.

John:

You too, . Happy to be here.

John:

I'm really excited about today's topic because I know it's something

John:

that comes up in client management quite a bit and it's a bit of a pain

John:

point for clients and for us because there's no clear guidelines, I guess

John:

for when we're creating assets.

John:

For Pax.

John:

So that's what we're gonna look at today.

John:

A few months ago probably like six months ago maybe was a new tool released

John:

inside of Google Ads which is the video creation tool inside the asset library.

John:

So Andrew's gonna walk us through it.

John:

He, it has made many, many videos for lots of his clients.

John:

Lots of my clients as well, , he's very talented in this realm.

John:

So I will let you show the people what we're.

John:

You got it.

John:

Let me share my screen here and find the right tab that I need.

John:

if we are just in our kind of standard ads account, so I'm just in the

John:

recommendations tab, that fyi, no one.

John:

Look at or use, cuz these are all terrible.

John:

If you go but don't apply right away, use your critical thinking

John:

So you wanna go up to your menu bar up here, tools and settings, and

John:

then go into your asset library.

John:

I'm just in our solution data account right now.

John:

So once you're in here, then you wanna go over to the plus button the new,

John:

scroll down to video create video.

John:

So I guess maybe we'll pause here.

John:

Why is it important that, , this now exists within Google, in your opinion?

John:

Like as a client manager?

John:

Yeah, I think there.

John:

Are a ton of ton of people that really struggle with video content.

John:

One, because honestly, good video content is pretty expensive,

John:

and two, it takes a lot of time.

John:

So unless you find someone that's really, really good on like five or Upwork or

John:

some freelance site like that, which can take a lot of kind of trial and error.

John:

Trying to find someone that works well and produces good content.

John:

it's really hard and making videos is not an easy thing.

John:

It's not, images where you can just shoot, have a product, shoot or have a lifestyle

John:

photo shoot or something like that, and you have all your images and you can

John:

just edit 'em real fast and away you go.

John:

Video content just takes a lot of time and in here it kind of gives you a number

John:

of different templates that you can use.

John:

So some of these, are more promotion based or.

John:

Promote individual products.

John:

You can also show kind of phone interactions and try and leverage

John:

how people would interact on mobile.

John:

You can have product highlights.

John:

There's a couple brand features here that you can use.

John:

Aren't the greatest, but if you're trying to get something put together

John:

in a pinch, it's always gonna be better than nothing, honestly.

John:

And actually, there are more templates in here than there was the last time

John:

that I was in here, so that's good.

John:

At least that tells us that Google's trying to expand these

John:

out a little bit more and.

John:

These look like they're all vertical ones.

John:

these will be good for anyone that wants to do kind of

John:

exclusively mobile based things.

John:

again, all vertical.

John:

Google looks like they're actually trying to put some more time and

John:

effort into here, which is good.

John:

And I think having the template option, I think for a lot of small businesses,

John:

video creation it's a creative thing and a lot of people just don't have the time

John:

they might not think of themselves as like a creative person and that's fine.

John:

, you're running a, , electrical.

John:

Maintenance business of some sort , you're good at that.

John:

You might not find yourself wanting to kind of dive into

John:

this more creative stuff.

John:

Mm-hmm.

John:

. So having something like a template where you just like upload the things that you

John:

have and it creates a really engaging, , really is more and more engaging than.

John:

nothing.

John:

Exactly.

John:

No, that's right.

John:

But if you have a template, it's super easy for you to use.

John:

You now have the tools that you need to create some video for Performance

John:

Max campaign, or, I mean, it doesn't necessarily have to be for just

John:

performance max campaigns, right?

John:

This can be that you use even for just your YouTube channel itself.

John:

any of these.

John:

you'll see kind of at the end when we get through all this, but you can have these

John:

upload directly to your YouTube channel.

John:

Mm-hmm.

John:

. And the other nice thing is that if you don't actually have a YouTube channel,

John:

you can still use these for ads.

John:

Because Google will essentially create Like an ads channel, right.

John:

That these get uploaded to.

John:

So you still have a YouTube link that you can utilize for your performance banks

John:

campaigns or even your YouTube campaigns?

John:

Yeah, because normally if you make a video outside of this feature, for

John:

instance, you would have to upload your video tube, YouTube, and then

John:

we'd have to grab it from there for Pax, for YouTube, any of those

John:

campaigns, any video based campaigns.

John:

Yep.

John:

You want me to dive into one of these?

John:

Yeah.

John:

And I know you have a couple favorites that you like to use, so maybe just

John:

highlighting a couple That are good.

John:

Yep.

John:

So anything where, , people are gonna be interacting with more on their phone.

John:

This one is really good.

John:

Yeah.

John:

And I like to use a lot because I think in terms of like the graphical things that.

John:

Contained in this template are a lot better, honestly,

John:

than most of the other ones.

John:

I've used this one for just kind of general product catalogs that you

John:

wanna highlight a number of different products I've used this one a handful

John:

of times too, just for a couple of e-commerce brands that have maybe

John:

just a small handful of products.

John:

those are good places to kind of start, especially if you're kind of

John:

more on the e-com side of things.

John:

these brand ones are okay, but I think for the most part, for ad specific stuff going

John:

more product based is probably a better idea just because it can get a little bit

John:

tricky trying to do brain awareness stuff.

John:

Through YouTube.

John:

this one also looks like a pretty decent one that I haven't looked at

John:

yet, but that makes, I think this one's probably a really good one to use too.

John:

Yeah, and just going back to the, the mobile one there with the swiping, I have

John:

a swimwear based client who used this one.

John:

And as they're swiping, they're going through the different variations of like,

John:

color in one of their swimsuit styles.

John:

And that video gets a really great interaction rate

John:

uh, really good view rate.

John:

So I, I really like that one.

John:

If you've got products that have different variations, different colors, something

John:

like that where you can just show.

John:

, someone's swiping through.

John:

I think that one works really well.

John:

Okay, cool.

John:

let's just run through this one real fast just so everybody can kind of

John:

see how these templates kind of work and what each of them kind of ask for.

John:

But before we go in there the nice thing is the video creator will actually

John:

tell you, All of the things that you need to put in the video before you

John:

actually kind of select a template.

John:

So if, for example, you only have a handful of images that you can or want

John:

to use, then you can kind of look here.

John:

And this one says it only uses two images, one logo, six text areas.

John:

and then this one's three images, one logo, a couple more text areas.

John:

But then some of these other ones, like this one, your product catalog

John:

that asks for five images and two logos, and then 14 text areas.

John:

This it can take a little bit more time to kind of figure out how you

John:

want everything to get laid out, but we'll pop into this one first.

John:

First thing is just video name, and this will actually show up

John:

as the video title if you get it uploaded to your YouTube channel.

John:

you should be a little bit careful about how you decide to name things.

John:

You don't wanna just name it like video one products

John:

because that's essentially how.

John:

Title's gonna show on your actual YouTube thing.

John:

being a little bit more intentional about how you name this, I think

John:

will be better practice to kind of.

John:

So let's do a little video inception here and we'll make a video for the

John:

video that we are recording right now.

John:

Oh, . what is a good title for our video that we're doing right now, Melissa?

John:

I know.

John:

Putting you on the spot.

John:

Yeah, I always rewrite these titles like five times.

John:

I know I do too.

John:

We'll just pretend.

John:

Greatest for people.

John:

The greatest.

John:

Yes.

John:

Yeah.

John:

Yeah.

John:

Greatest is going Google Video Tool.

John:

You Use today.

John:

think you should have all of our YouTube titles on.

John:

. Is this click bait, ? It's all click bait.

John:

That's all It's, it's all YouTube.

John:

It's, we live in a world click and then you can use this eyedropper so

John:

if you click on that, you can use the eyedropper and kind of move around and

John:

you can actually go off screen with this.

John:

So right now I'm like on my actual desktop picking colors.

John:

So you can pick colors from directly from your website that's off your tab.

John:

Or if your he codes, then you can just.

John:

Chuck 'em all in here and it'll be good to go, but , let's just

John:

do this orange here for now.

John:

Orange is not our color.

John:

It's not our coloring, not our color.

John:

Let me find a green that's like close to you, just solutions.

John:

Okay.

John:

So that's kind of the other nice thing.

John:

When you pull up your images, it'll pull up everything that's already in your

John:

asset library so we can use this guy.

John:

So it might be a good idea to upload some of the stuff into

John:

your asset library before started.

John:

Yes.

John:

This process.

John:

very much so.

John:

And then when you open these up, It'll give you kind of a, crop box.

John:

And some of these have different dimensions.

John:

So if we go back, cancel it'll show you kind of what dimensions mm-hmm.

John:

it's asking for here.

John:

So this is kind of a more horizontal one.

John:

So this will work fine.

John:

have this image.

John:

So this just kind of standard, so we'll just use.

John:

This is a vertical one, so we'll use Casa here, zoom it down.

John:

He'll be happy to show the made video as well.

John:

and then second image.

John:

throw John in there.

John:

Yes.

John:

See if we can get his big old head.

John:

Save.

John:

And sometimes it'll give you this warning if you crop it down too much.

John:

It's usually fine, especially if you're on something that people are

John:

gonna be watching on their phone.

John:

I don't think a whole lot of people are gonna be paying attention, but

John:

the higher the quality, the image, the better it's gonna be for you.

John:

and then we'll look at our last one, which is a portrait style.

John:

then let's see what we can put in.

John:

. It's telling you recommended orientation portrait.

John:

Okay.

John:

So it's telling you.

John:

Okay, got it.

John:

It'll tell you the.

John:

and how the image is gonna be used on the screen.

John:

cool thing is actually, so these, in that video, it'll be, when

John:

they're swiping, that's what these three videos will be, probably.

John:

Yeah.

John:

So we probably best if you e-com that these were product photos,

John:

but for us, Just working with what we have . Yes, exactly.

John:

the nice thing is if you come down here, this kind of shows you how

John:

it'll look on the actual video itself.

John:

it'll have a little image and then a one next to it.

John:

, image one is what's gonna show up right here.

John:

And then text one shows up here.

John:

Text two is here, text three is here.

John:

So then it kind of shows you where.

John:

Each of these text boxes that you're writing out will

John:

show up in the actual video.

John:

So first text will just say watch this amazing tool.

John:

And then text two halls.

John:

Create tool.

John:

Oh tool Google.

John:

Oh, video tool.

John:

Google's video tool, . It's three, so this'll be around here.

John:

The best video creator This is a lot of pressure you're doing or some of these

John:

are actually they give you a decent amount of characters that you can use,

John:

so it makes it a little bit nicer.

John:

Number four.

John:

also as you go along, you'll see here these will kind of populate along with

John:

the images and the text that you use.

John:

And then text four, we'll just say Melissa.

John:

Andrew or geniuses.

John:

I mean, I agree to that.

John:

Learn.

John:

There we go.

John:

Now it'll pull the rest of the way.

John:

Learn how to use Google's new.

John:

And maybe just while you're doing this, I'll plug Carmen's video.

John:

So Carmen is another one third of GA's girls and she's also our

John:

copywriting manager, is that her, she's a client manager and she's also

John:

oversees all the copywriters as well.

John:

So she is made, and I don't know if it'll be released by the time

John:

this video is, I'm pretty certain.

John:

It's in the queue now, so I can probably get it linked.

John:

But Carmen will go over like best practices for copywriting as well.

John:

I'm pretty certain they'll go over different campaign types,

John:

but don't hold me to that.

John:

But there might be something about Pax in there specifically but

John:

it'll definitely be worth a watch.

John:

And Carmen is also part of our pod.

John:

So Andrew and I are in the same pod with Carmen, and then Osama,

John:

who, from the channel is the strategist on our team as well.

John:

indeed.

John:

Okay.

John:

once we get to the end here, Then you can actually change your font.

John:

Well, sort of, not really.

John:

Google only lets you use Rebato, but you can do condensed rebato

John:

or mono rebato or slab rebato.

John:

What's the slab?

John:

And then Google.

John:

This is the option now.

John:

Okay, well we're stuck.

John:

maybe don't change your text.

John:

But this asset creator is known for having little bugs like this.

John:

I think we've, yes, both of us have experienced where?

John:

Hmm.

John:

, just like different things.

John:

A little bit wonky, so yeah.

John:

Don't be alarmed.

John:

. Yes.

John:

And then lastly, You.

John:

Oh, there's AI audio in here now.

John:

Oh, there's way more music than they had.

John:

Holy cow.

John:

There's so much more.

John:

Yeah, but you guys, the last time that I used this, there was maybe like

John:

10 songs that you could use in here.

John:

So this is way better than it was.

John:

So you can, I dunno if you guys can hear this or not.

John:

It's in my headphones, but, well, they can probably hear from my.

John:

so you can kind of test and listen through all these things.

John:

They have different moods that you can kind of look through first, and then

John:

that's kind of usually how I categorize.

John:

I try and fit the mood first and then look through and then listen to.

John:

Same thing in of YouTube as well, right?

John:

You can, if you're inside of YouTube, if you're making yeah, video there, you can

John:

look through the catalog of music and it's also Ed by, so that's So let's just,

John:

and then what you can do.

John:

Let's see this, video at the beginning just shows kind of how everything will

John:

look once it's all put together, right?

John:

But then.

John:

Now we have our greatest video ad ever created here.

John:

So we'll just create video.

John:

this is the ad storage channel that I talked about earlier.

John:

So this essentially acts as a pseudo YouTube channel that will

John:

store all of your ad videos if you don't have an existing channel.

John:

Mm-hmm.

John:

And don't wanna go through the hassle making.

John:

And then you can still use them for all of your ads.

John:

Otherwise you can upload it to your own channel here, and then it'll generate

John:

the video here it'll give you a, preview.

John:

And We don't have to wait for this to populate cuz it might take a while,

John:

but do people wanna see the video?

John:

This is not a glitch.

John:

I'm interrupting the video you're watching because I need to remind

John:

you that I'm always looking for people to join our team.

John:

So if you're passionate about Google Ads and you wanna work with the best

John:

Google Ads agency on the planet, please go to so late.com/apply.

John:

Speaking of working with the best Google Ads agency on the planet, if you're

John:

having trouble with Google ads and you want professional, That's what we do.

John:

You can go to so late.com, that's s o l eight.com to apply for your

John:

free, no obligation action plan.

John:

And if I've given you any level of value at all, maybe think about giving me a

John:

thumbs up and subscribe to our channel.

John:

That's how we choose the YouTube algorithm, so they actually know

John:

that I know what I'm talking about.

John:

If you have questions, comments, concerns, or confessions, hit me below the comments.

John:

And now back to your regularly scheduled.

John:

So now that this is finally loaded, after waiting way too long for

John:

Google to get this ready for us, usually it doesn't take too long.

John:

Mm-hmm.

John:

. Especially since it's just like a 16 second video.

John:

But again, this tool is still kind of, it's a newer thing.

John:

So Bugs.

John:

Bugs a galore, which is, it is what it is.

John:

here's kind of the full video all put together.

John:

With all of our nice images and self congratulations, for Mel and myself,

John:

but yet, cause the John in there

John:

All right, so then once this is kind of loaded and populated for you,

John:

you'll have the option to, it'll give you the upload option here and then

John:

depending on where you wanna put, Then you just upload and away you go.

John:

And then it'll give you I guess I, I guess we can just upload it.

John:

Huh?

John:

Who cares To the chance you go to that one?

John:

Yeah.

John:

No, we'll do this one.

John:

Yeah, we'll just put it in there.

John:

, once it does upload, then it'll give you kind of a little thumbnail for it and

John:

then an actual short link for the video.

John:

There you go.

John:

So here's the video.

John:

The thumbnail will populate.

John:

Google just has to do it kind of on its own.

John:

But then you have your short link here and you can copy

John:

paste as needed, and there you.

John:

Then you just add it into your campaign as you would, and

John:

yeah, you're rock and rolling.

John:

So yeah.

John:

Final thoughts, why we think this is a good tool?

John:

Again, we know a lot of people struggle with creating assets for Performance Max.

John:

And even, , YouTube YouTube seems to be kinda up and coming in the Google

John:

Ads world, so it could be a really great tool for you to start out some

John:

YouTube campaigns if you're not already running them and you don't have a huge.

John:

, budgeter creative team or an agency or anything that you work with.

John:

Yeah, so we think that definitely utilize this.

John:

Give it a try.

John:

Let us know what you think.

John:

Yeah.

John:

It takes a little bit of playing around with, honestly.

John:

But I mean, for anybody that has even a tiny inkling.

John:

Creative juices in their brain.

John:

it won't be hard for you honestly.

John:

Mm-hmm.

John:

. So just make sure you have all your, all the images you wanna have to use, kind of

John:

set out ahead of time and probably upload it into your asset library beforehand.

John:

Mm-hmm.

John:

. Otherwise you can upload as you go.

John:

But other than that, it's pretty plug and play for the most part.

John:

So.

John:

Good luck, . Yeah.

John:

Thanks for joining us guys.

John:

Andrew, thanks for coming on and sharing this with the people.

John:

I know they will definitely.

John:

Of course, this one.

John:

Yeah, so if you like what we do here if you think our content's valuable,

John:

like subscribe, share do all of the things for us and we'll see you next

John:

time for our next video with Gas girls.
