YouTube & Shopify Integration With Eli Gurock of Magic Beans

Thu, Aug 11, 2022

Eli Gurock schools us up on the new Shopify and YouTube Shopping integration- what it is, how it works, and what this could mean for business owners and digital marketing.

The new integration allows you to upload and sync your Shopify store to YouTube by pinning products next to your videos. Shopify and YouTube announced the integration last July.

As described by YouTube:

“Creators who link their stores can display their products across their channel and benefit from Shopify’s real-time inventory syncing, so that viewers are never disappointed to find a product out of stock. And, for a more seamless shopping experience, creators in the US can enable onsite checkout so that viewers can complete their purchases without leaving YouTube.”

Kasim:

Well, you're one of the clients that terrifies me because you know

Kasim:

more about Google ads than I do.

Kasim:

You can now integrate Shopify and YouTube together and put

Kasim:

links underneath your video.

Kasim:

So that sounds really cool, but how do I do that?

Kasim:

And there's very, very little information about how to

Kasim:

practically set that up and do that.

Kasim:

So I spent a whole bunch of time at the end of last week, setting it all up,

Kasim:

the Shopify and YouTube integration.

Kasim:

You figured out something and I don't know anybody else who's figured it out yet.

Kasim:

I don't think.

Kasim:

These YouTube link, these little stop file links are gonna

Kasim:

make me a gajillion dollars.

Kasim:

But I think that it's important to try to innovate, try to do new things.

Kasim:

If it doesn't take you too much time, if it doesn't cost you too much

Kasim:

money, you never know what is gonna be the thing that's gonna like make a

Kasim:

difference or really move the needles.

Kasim:

And.

Kasim:

It's cost me the day of the Google news.

Kasim:

And I'm so excited.

Kasim:

this is one of the first times actually we've ever had a client on the channel.

Kasim:

I think it's happened once or twice before.

Kasim:

but I've got Ellie ack.

Kasim:

Who's the founder and CEO of magic beans.

Kasim:

Ellie.

Kasim:

Thanks for being here.

Kasim:

Appreciate you.

Kasim:

I'm actually really excited.

Kasim:

I'm a huge fan besides being a client.

Kasim:

Yeah, well, you're one of the clients that terrifies me because you know

Kasim:

more about Google ads than I do.

Kasim:

And so every now and then they come, they sneak through the cracks and I'm

Kasim:

just like, oh goodness, my imposter syndrome starts to wave a flag.

Kasim:

but I just mean that you're a super sophisticated entrepreneur, but you

Kasim:

actually know a lot about like the inner workings of, I mean, as evidenced by

Kasim:

the fact that we're about to talk about, the Shopify and YouTube integration, if

Kasim:

you figured out something and I don't know anybody else who's figured it.

Kasim:

Well, yeah, like on Wednesday, I got an email from Shopify that good news.

Kasim:

Now YouTube is connected to Shopify and we have a fairly

Kasim:

sizable YouTube following.

Kasim:

we have over 26 million views on YouTube.

Kasim:

I review and compare strollers and car seats, IVA.

Kasim:

My website is mb.com and we sell baby products.

Kasim:

It's great.

Kasim:

So, you're not just online, right?

Kasim:

You're brick and mortar too in Boston.

Kasim:

Yeah.

Kasim:

Yeah.

Kasim:

We have two brick and mortar stories here in Boston.

Kasim:

So, yeah, it's really cool.

Kasim:

And YouTube has been sort of transformative for our business because I.

Kasim:

Have spent so many years in store teaching consumers, one on one

Kasim:

about how to buy the best stroller and car seat to things like that.

Kasim:

I'm a father of three.

Kasim:

So I have a lot of expertise around this stuff and YouTube

Kasim:

really gave me a platform to share my expertise with the world.

Kasim:

It's really great.

Kasim:

But so I get this email on Wednesday morning.

Kasim:

Surprise.

Kasim:

You can now integrate Shopify and YouTube together and put

Kasim:

links underneath your video.

Kasim:

So I'm like, that sounds really, really cool, but how do I do that?

Kasim:

And there's like very, very little information about how to

Kasim:

practically set that up and do that.

Kasim:

So I spent a whole bunch of time at the end of last week, setting

Kasim:

it all up, setting about it.

Kasim:

And then I told you in like a vulture and I was like, can you

Kasim:

teach my people how to do that?

Kasim:

Yeah.

Kasim:

I'm excited, man.

Kasim:

So, the value proposition's super clear, you have a YouTube channel,

Kasim:

and this is organic traffic play.

Kasim:

I wonder though, and even if it's not available or accessible just yet, I

Kasim:

wonder whether or not Google's gonna give us the ability to get a little

Kasim:

bit more aggressive with the push from a paid perspective and maybe that's.

Kasim:

An add on conversation, but at the moment, your YouTube channel allows

Kasim:

you to take your GMC push all your products in through the YouTube channel.

Kasim:

So they're visually accessible.

Kasim:

Would you mind showing us what you're looking at?

Kasim:

do, would I mind show?

Kasim:

Yeah.

Kasim:

I guess what I'm asking is can we pull up the YouTube channel and

Kasim:

see the product has been in play?

Kasim:

Sure.

Kasim:

All right.

Kasim:

I'm gonna share my screen here.

Kasim:

All right.

Kasim:

So I'm on the magic beans, YouTube video, 65,000 subscribers, dude.

Kasim:

That's I forgot you had that many subscribers.

Kasim:

That's amazing.

Kasim:

Good for you.

Kasim:

I'm really excited.

Kasim:

I'm kind of proud of that.

Kasim:

I have to admit that's huge.

Kasim:

you're YouTube famous.

Kasim:

All right.

Kasim:

So I can go to any video and in theory, it's gonna push

Kasim:

products through, in the exactly.

Kasim:

So choose that silver cross reef.

Kasim:

Sounds good.

Kasim:

And just scroll down a little bit.

Kasim:

Yep.

Kasim:

And there you go.

Kasim:

Look at that silver cross reef Nuna RVA up.

Kasim:

So those are products that I curated to go under.

Kasim:

that video.

Kasim:

Now, if you scroll to the left is the silver cross reef.

Kasim:

So I was able to curate that under the silver cross reef review, first product

Kasim:

show, silver cross reef stroller, and then the upper baby Vista, which is too over.

Kasim:

I probably need to do a better job curating this particular one, but

Kasim:

basically the next three products.

Kasim:

My sort of like default catalog of products that are gonna be

Kasim:

under, any video on the channel.

Kasim:

So the cool thing is that I don't have to go into every video

Kasim:

and, put a carousel of products.

Kasim:

Basically there's default 30 products go under every video, but if I want

Kasim:

to, I can go into the individual videos and there's a monetization tab, in,

Kasim:

YouTube studio that you can click on and then you can sort of, I can cur.

Kasim:

Any product for my entire catalog to go underneath, a video so that people

Kasim:

can shop as while they're watching.

Kasim:

Cuz they hopefully like me and what I'm teaching them.

Kasim:

And they will reward me by shopping with me versus Amazon, which would be great.

Kasim:

So cool.

Kasim:

So on a per video basis, you can choose which products are being shown, but

Kasim:

then you can have a default catalog too, and then just front load, the most

Kasim:

applicable product, but then modify.

Kasim:

And then allow the default catalog to kind of follow along as a trail.

Kasim:

Correct.

Kasim:

Right.

Kasim:

I think this is probably designed for YouTube creators who have merch, right?

Kasim:

Like a bunch of t-shirts.

Kasim:

for their channel.

Kasim:

But I think that for retailers like me that have like a 10,000 products

Kasim:

in their catalog, I think this is like an extremely powerful, way of selling.

Kasim:

The other thing that you can do with this.

Kasim:

And I think this is what they want to get at is live social selling.

Kasim:

Now I haven't really tried that yet on YouTube.

Kasim:

I've tried it a little bit.

Kasim:

So what happens is you can go live on YouTube obviously, and then you

Kasim:

can choose which products to feature.

Kasim:

In that YouTube live.

Kasim:

So I think what they want us to start doing is basically create

Kasim:

my own individual little QVC type show, where I talk about products.

Kasim:

And then I sell the products during the event.

Kasim:

And so my hope is in September to my first sort of like live selling

Kasim:

event, hopefully have some sort.

Kasim:

Offer that I can offer the consumer.

Kasim:

So if you watch like QVC, I'll have a limited number.

Kasim:

I have 10 of these strollers available that I'm showing you right now,

Kasim:

buy them now click the link right below goes straight to by Shopify

Kasim:

store, by, and hopefully that works.

Kasim:

So I think that would be a really cool thing.

Kasim:

I know that all of the different social platforms, TikTok and Instagram,

Kasim:

they all want this sort of like live.

Kasim:

Selling situation happening.

Kasim:

Yeah.

Kasim:

TikTok has done a really good job at nicheing down into product

Kasim:

specific videos with a strong CTA it's so heavily commercial.

Kasim:

And what's interesting is it didn't, it didn't feel like it compromised the

Kasim:

value of the network at all, because they just kind of came out and said,

Kasim:

this is effectively what we're doing.

Kasim:

I love your idea of the QBC model though.

Kasim:

And then just to real quick, I didn't do a good job at kind of, illustrating

Kasim:

this for anybody who's watching.

Kasim:

When somebody clicks on a product, it opens up in a new tab, which it

Kasim:

makes a lot of sense because YouTube doesn't wanna lose the traffic.

Kasim:

And then in the new tab, it looks like Google is pushing, tracking,

Kasim:

but it's not pushing your tracking.

Kasim:

So you weren't able to add any level of tracking or UTM

Kasim:

or any of that stuff, right?

Kasim:

like I said, this is like fresh and new.

Kasim:

but we looked at this on Monday to see, cause I set this up for the

Kasim:

weekend, looked at it on Monday.

Kasim:

There was no evidence that maybe no one's clicked on these links yet, but

Kasim:

there's no way an analytics for me to see that a customer came from YouTube.

Kasim:

Oh, popped up that window.

Kasim:

And that this was effective.

Kasim:

So we literally have no way of knowing whether I'm going to

Kasim:

make any money from this at all.

Kasim:

but it's cool.

Kasim:

Right.

Kasim:

Google.

Kasim:

It's cool.

Kasim:

Yeah.

Kasim:

Thank you.

Kasim:

Shopify.

Kasim:

Google loves to push out stuff.

Kasim:

That's just so half baked.

Kasim:

but then they fix it.

Kasim:

and it actually kind of makes sense.

Kasim:

I almost appreciate that more than the, oh, this has to be

Kasim:

a hundred percent perfect.

Kasim:

We stroll it out and then nobody likes it.

Kasim:

so we become part of the R and D process, but, I didn't know.

Kasim:

This was a thing I wonder is this restricted to Shopify store?

Kasim:

Or is Shopify, just the one that made the big mass integration.

Kasim:

And so it's easier to push in through Shopify cause I'd never seen this.

Kasim:

This is a partnership with Shopify and Google.

Kasim:

I think there was some sort of like precursor apps that were doing this type

Kasim:

of thing, like in a beta, situation.

Kasim:

But this is the very little information I see online about this.

Kasim:

This is like a, both Shopify and Google are very excited about this partnership.

Kasim:

and it makes sense.

Kasim:

There are so many Shopify stores out there and creators are gonna like make a shop.

Kasim:

And.

Kasim:

again, I think it's pretty easy to sort of curate that stuff.

Kasim:

It's not great that it limits me to 30 products and that default catalog.

Kasim:

And, but like you said, it is because say half baked, you say

Kasim:

it's a newer product from Google.

Kasim:

So, as, creators continue sort of using this, hopefully they'll

Kasim:

be add, add better tracking.

Kasim:

Add like better features to make sure that this is effective and that we

Kasim:

can sort of really drive extra sales.

Kasim:

but I think it's pretty neat.

Kasim:

otherwise the different cards they have in the videos that you put in there to,

Kasim:

so you have to like leave the video.

Kasim:

Click a card, go to the site or put links below, but this is just like

Kasim:

a very visual way for people to see that, Hey, oh, I can buy this.

Kasim:

And also to connect the fact for people like me that not only am

Kasim:

I YouTube creator, but I'm also.

Kasim:

A retailer to really make that connection that, oh, there is his website, right?

Kasim:

Like he also has places to buy the stuff that he is talking about.

Kasim:

Well, and the prioritization of the real estate is pretty substantial, you know?

Kasim:

I mean, I can, it almost looks like YouTube's recommended videos.

Kasim:

so it draws your eye really well.

Kasim:

that's the only thing that, I'm a paid traffic guy saying this.

Kasim:

I don't believe in long term.

Kasim:

heavy reliance on paid traffic.

Kasim:

I think that it should always be a part of the marketing mix, obviously,

Kasim:

but it shouldn't be the core cause on a long enough timeline, it will

Kasim:

fail like on a long enough timeline.

Kasim:

Your paid traffic is you're either gonna have peaks and valleys,

Kasim:

Lowell, big competitor steps into the space, hemorrhages money.

Kasim:

You know what I mean?

Kasim:

Like something will go wrong.

Kasim:

Again, it's counter to my best interest to say that to people.

Kasim:

But what you've done is brilliant.

Kasim:

Like you built this amazing audience, 65,000 subscribers.

Kasim:

How many millions of views did you say?

Kasim:

26 million dude.

Kasim:

That is so wonder what medicine square garden seats.

Kasim:

I think 30,000 people, right?

Kasim:

I'm just doing my napkin math.

Kasim:

So you played 867 Madison square gardens.

Kasim:

You know what I mean?

Kasim:

Like we forget the scale of any of digital reach that is so amazing for

Kasim:

you, for your business, for your impact.

Kasim:

But then you have one little teeny tiny widget that, Shopify

Kasim:

and YouTube corroborate on.

Kasim:

And then all of a sudden you start to see like, oh, wow, this

Kasim:

is why this is so impactful.

Kasim:

I just think this is super cool.

Kasim:

So if you're watching this, take a note from Ellie, you shouldn't always

Kasim:

pay for your traffic coming from the pay traffic guy, build a community.

Kasim:

And the way to build a community by the way to give is to serve.

Kasim:

And that's what you do with your videos.

Kasim:

Like these reviews, these product reviews.

Kasim:

I've watched them, not all of them, but I watched enough of.

Kasim:

Like you really dive deep.

Kasim:

I like to think about Dwight shoot in the office when he takes the car seat

Kasim:

and he straps to the back of the car.

Kasim:

I mean, you're not going that far, but like you, you provided an immense

Kasim:

amount of value and it's why you've been able to basically establish yourself.

Kasim:

is the authority, is there anybody else in the space that's even close to you?

Kasim:

No.

Kasim:

not close to me.

Kasim:

I mean, I think that, I'm like very, very much of obsessed with what I do.

Kasim:

Yeah.

Kasim:

I love helping customers figure out baby gear and.

Kasim:

I've been doing it this so long, being on the sales floor of my store for so many

Kasim:

years and the reality is our industry.

Kasim:

my business grew up with this sort of modern baby, the Dwight products,

Kasim:

I've been around for all this stuff.

Kasim:

So, it's just really cool to be able to share this with so many

Kasim:

people from around the world.

Kasim:

And also, I just wanna say that, solutions a does run, YouTube ads for us, and

Kasim:

it's just really been able to amplify the stuff that I'm doing organically.

Kasim:

If I didn't do all that work organically, if I didn't build the hundreds of videos

Kasim:

that I did, it would be, it would really be for nothing like I can understand this

Kasim:

for as a direct response moment through YouTube, but I think that for us, That's

Kasim:

why, like, I love YouTube advertising so much is because for me, it's the

Kasim:

way I'm thinking about is, people are coming into my ecosystem for YouTube.

Kasim:

Because they saw an ad, which, we take one of our videos using it as an ad.

Kasim:

They come in and then they see, oh my gosh, this guy really knows his stuff.

Kasim:

And they're white watching all of my videos and it just like really

Kasim:

just grow the channel as well.

Kasim:

So it's a really good combination of sort of paid and organic together.

Kasim:

This is not a glitch.

Kasim:

I'm interrupting the video you're watching because I need to remind

Kasim:

you that I'm always looking for people to join our team.

Kasim:

So they actually know that I know what I'm talking about.

Kasim:

If you have questions, comments, concerns, or confessions hit

Kasim:

me below in the comments.

Kasim:

And now back to your regularly scheduled program.

Kasim:

Yeah.

Kasim:

I've had the exact same experience because, if we figure something else

Kasim:

on Google, we put on YouTube and if we make a mistake put on YouTube and,

Kasim:

and there's something about like the authenticity there to where I think

Kasim:

it really resonates with people.

Kasim:

When did you start your YouTube channel?

Kasim:

How long ago?

Kasim:

Oh, 10 years ago.

Kasim:

My kids make fun of me, dude.

Kasim:

No way.

Kasim:

You're like an OG.

Kasim:

I didn't know.

Kasim:

I was 10 years old.

Kasim:

Yeah.

Kasim:

So I did a bugga boost, snack tray.

Kasim:

Bugo thrill brand.

Kasim:

I did a little video of a snack tray.

Kasim:

Sometimes I like walking into my kitchen.

Kasim:

I'll hear my two older kids like laughing.

Kasim:

I'm like, Hey kids, why are you laughing?

Kasim:

I'll we're watching your bugga boost snack tray video.

Kasim:

You're so terrible in that first video, your kids are heckling you.

Kasim:

That's awesome.

Kasim:

Yeah, they totally heckle me.

Kasim:

They also think that their dad is a YouTuber, so that's pretty cool.

Kasim:

So that is pretty.

Kasim:

I'm looking at your channel right now.

Kasim:

Oh, I see the bugga boo.

Kasim:

I see the original video.

Kasim:

I'm just curious.

Kasim:

So when did your channel start to take off?

Kasim:

At what point was it like?

Kasim:

Oh my goodness.

Kasim:

I mean, 27,000 views that's taken off.

Kasim:

Yeah.

Kasim:happened was, I think it was:Kasim:

I was in one of my stores and I decided to do the best strollers.

Kasim:

Like, I didn't know how to name anything.

Kasim:

I didn't know what I was doing.

Kasim:

I basically gave one of my store employees a phone and I said, Hey, I'm gonna talk

Kasim:

about the top five strollers that I.

Kasim:d I did the best strollers of:Kasim:

Oh, the other thing is I did this trade show video about this product called

Kasim:

a Duna D O N a, and it was so cool.

Kasim:

I did this video and then I just watched, like, it got like 500 views and I got

Kasim:

super, super excited and I was also keenly aware around the time when, again, I don't

Kasim:

exactly remember when YouTube, oh, and now Google, but YouTube, but it was right

Kasim:

around the time where I was just being kind of like an SEO person, I thought

Kasim:

it was really cool right after Google.

Kasim:

Like, oh my gosh.

Kasim:

I'm not ranking for any of these products.

Kasim:

I'm late to the game in terms of like SEO stuff.

Kasim:

But if I make a video about a product, that's brilliant.

Kasim:

Just what Shopify's doing right now.

Kasim:

they put the stuff on the top right now we just bought YouTube, all

Kasim:

the videos on the very, very top of the search engine results page.

Kasim:

So.

Kasim:

If I do a review on this product, let me see if I'll be on the

Kasim:

top of Google and there it was.

Kasim:

And then I thought, let me do another one.

Kasim:

And I just thought it was just fun to have my videos, like leapfrog

Kasim:

over everything else on the page.

Kasim:

And then over time I have this like very immense catalog of videos that people then

Kasim:

that it sort of took on a life of its own.

Kasim:

That's so cool.

Kasim:

What an immense amount of Forset on your, part too.

Kasim:

So if you don't mind me asking, if you don't wanna let the cat

Kasim:

outta the bag, that's okay.

Kasim:

What's next?

Kasim:

Like, I mean, you seem to be a guy that kind of really sees the lanes.

Kasim:

Where do you think, where are you investing in other traffic channels,

Kasim:

other acquisition opportunities?

Kasim:

What other networks do you think have a, a strong future?

Kasim:

that is a really good question.

Kasim:

I think that I would love to see this like live selling thing.

Kasim:

Be a thing yeah.

Kasim:

On YouTube or any other channel.

Kasim:

but I think many entrepreneurs have this problem is like distraction.

Kasim:

Right?

Kasim:

So how many, like you talk about TikTok and of course, and

Kasim:

we're on TikTok and I do some.

Kasim:

Couple of things on TikTok and we've had some good, organic results on TikTok.

Kasim:

Like I do some like funny things, that still offers value, but, I am just

Kasim:

doubling and tripling down on YouTube.

Kasim:

I can be a lot better.

Kasim:

I should have 200 million views is reality.

Kasim:

And I gotta just Keep on optimizing, keep on doing things that are gonna add value.

Kasim:

But I think that part of the problem for my business is that every day

Kasim:

someone's becoming pregnant and every day someone is learning about a

Kasim:

stroller for the very, very first time.

Kasim:

Right.

Kasim:

So I always need to go back to the fundamentals and like,

Kasim:

Hey, this is a stroller.

Kasim:

Let me teach you all about it.

Kasim:

I can't believe that.

Kasim:

So I'm on a, constantly revolving, Wheel to sort of like teach

Kasim:

people about this baby gear stuff.

Kasim:

I'm also feeling anecdotally, I'm not sure if you feel this too, is

Kasim:

that the idea that people researching stuff that they need on YouTube

Kasim:

is just getting like super, super strong, like stronger than ever.

Kasim:

It's like, isn't that kind of weird?

Kasim:

Cause I've been doing it for two or three years, but it's weird to

Kasim:

see like other people catching up and me realizing like, oh, this is

Kasim:

actually new to most of the world.

Kasim:

Exactly.

Kasim:

So I think that, yeah, two, three years ago, you and I like other people were

Kasim:

like going to YouTube for things, or oh, how do I exchange attire go to YouTube?

Kasim:

And I learned how to do this, but in terms of really doing their research

Kasim:

and having more sophisticated content to teach people about the things that they

Kasim:

wanna learn about or wanna shop for.

Kasim:

I mean, people are like tired of, the amount.

Kasim:

Have you looked at a Google research, PA re results page recently cost.

Kasim:

It is like bananas, all of the different things, brain.

Kasim:

it is a completely train wreck, like Travis different, right?

Kasim:

Like how am I supposed to learn anything?

Kasim:

Yeah.

Kasim:

From a Google reserve result.

Kasim:

Well, so much of it is stolen clicks, Google's pulling in other

Kasim:

people's content and then it ends up being a little less interesting.

Kasim:

It dilutes the relevance and then there's the accordion and

Kasim:

the slider and the you're right.

Kasim:

It's like, it's so.

Kasim:

Complex.

Kasim:

And I don't know that I ever said those words out loud until you

Kasim:

just solicited that from me, that actually scares me a little bit.

Kasim:

It's like, man, did Google lose their way?

Kasim:

And then it has YouTube.

Kasim:

That's something they do with, right.

Kasim:

And then YouTube, it's so simple because you just put in what you're

Kasim:

looking for and they're pretty good at their algorithm and tell and

Kasim:

serving you the things that you need.

Kasim:

And I've been home for the past couple of days for any number of reasons

Kasim:

and watching a lot of YouTube and they do a really good job at just.

Kasim:

Keep serving you, the things that you're kind of interested in and I mean, that

Kasim:

just like serves us when we do our video.

Kasim:

So I'm to answer your initial question, I'm still super, super

Kasim:

bullish on YouTube and they're gonna continue to create, I'm like I'm

Kasim:

creating more videos than ever in two.

Kasim:ated more videos this year in:Kasim:

End of any year so far.

Kasim:

Let me ask you a question there, cuz you're really good at it.

Kasim:

There's something about your persona that plays well on YouTube.

Kasim:

If somebody's not like somebody's watching this and like, Hey this,

Kasim:

you know, the camera scares me.

Kasim:

I'm not photogenic.

Kasim:

I'm not whatever.

Kasim:

can that be learned?

Kasim:

Should you fight the grain or should you find somebody who is what's your.

Kasim:

I think that it really depends on where the expertise lies, I watch

Kasim:

YouTube videos and the people are like, have no charism whatsoever,

Kasim:

but I find the stuff super, super interesting, because they were extreme.

Kasim:

Experts at what they do.

Kasim:

So, the first thing I would say is that if you watch my mugabo snack

Kasim:tray video in:Kasim:

By the way, razzled dazzle sort of gets developed over time and you learn.

Kasim:

And, I think that if you have any charisma at all, and then you also

Kasim:

have the expertise to go with it, then you should really give it a

Kasim:

shot and, have good sound, have good lighting, all those real fundamentals,

Kasim:

don't mess around with that stuff.

Kasim:

But I think that, you can do it, but you I've heard you say this, window

Kasim:

with this channel is the problem is you.

Kasim:

You're starting from like way behind mm-hmm like, there are other

Kasim:

competitors in my space who, who are trying to do what we do, but we

Kasim:

are like, so, so, so, so far ahead.

Kasim:

Yeah.

Kasim:

you got your 10,000 hours in, you're the authority.

Kasim:

Exactly.

Kasim:

Yeah.

Kasim:

Right.

Kasim:

and YouTube knows that and people know that our videos.

Kasim:

And I've heard this from hundreds of customers over the years, they get

Kasim:

sucked into our vortex of videos and they just keep watching the videos.

Kasim:

And I finish my car seats, let's go into strollers.

Kasim:

Let's go on the baby cares.

Kasim:

Let's go to all the other things.

Kasim:

So I think you need to have that, vast catalog of videos and you have to

Kasim:

sort of really, really commit to it.

Kasim:

that's probably true with like anything, but you really have to commit to doing.

Kasim:

I don't know if you have to do 10,000 hours, but you used to

Kasim:

do a serious catalog of work in order for it to sort of take off.

Kasim:

And yeah, like I don't, you did a hundred videos for us.

Kasim:

and my mentor is a guy named Lu there.

Kasim:

He's got a YouTube channel also on Google ads.

Kasim:

If you're watching, you should go follow his there.

Kasim:

He's brilliant.

Kasim:

And he goes, you have to do a video every day for 90.

Kasim:

And it was weird cuz as soon as I did that, all of a sudden, we're getting

Kasim:

like four views, 12 views, 15 view.

Kasim:

And then all of the sudden it was like three interviews.

Kasim:

And I think as soon as we had about a hundred videos, YouTube

Kasim:

was like, okay, we trust you.

Kasim:

There's there's a case.

Kasim:

There's a repository of content.

Kasim:

And now people are going to.

Kasim:

Dive down the rabbit holes.

Kasim:

So it's exactly what you're saying.

Kasim:

It's been my experience too.

Kasim:

Yeah.

Kasim:

But you're also like really good at what you do.

Kasim:

And you have things to say.

Kasim:

Yeah.

Kasim:

Ellie, you're such a generous thought leader, man.

Kasim:

Thank you for sharing.

Kasim:

I don't know that a lot of people share all the secret sauce, but the fact that

Kasim:

you did makes me super grateful, love the product inclusion on the videos.

Kasim:

I'm definitely gonna start recommending that to everybody

Kasim:

with the YouTube channel.

Kasim:

And more than that, I'm gonna recommend that everybody

Kasim:

goes and builds a community.

Kasim:

Like go have a well from which you can draw.

Kasim:

Even when you know, if paid is down, you have somewhere else to,

Kasim:

you have somewhere else to travel.

Kasim:

I bull those conversations is a bad habit.

Kasim:

So I'll say last words to you.

Kasim:

Anything else that you wanna say or offer to our Watchers listeners?

Kasim:

yeah, I think that, read, I think that, this was a new, product that sort of

Kasim:

Shopify released and I got an email and, nod, everything is gonna pan out.

Kasim:

I don't think.

Kasim:

These YouTube link.

Kasim:

These little stop by links are gonna like, make me a gajillion dollars.

Kasim:

But I think that it's important to try to innovate, try to do new things.

Kasim:

If it doesn't take you too much time, if it doesn't cost you too much money,

Kasim:

like you never know what is gonna be the thing that's gonna like make a

Kasim:

difference or really move the needle.

Kasim:

So I guess my recommendation is to like try lots of things and and over time, it

Kasim:

may like help you be like more success.

Kasim:

Yeah, you start to crack the code Kaizen.

Kasim:

That's awesome.

Kasim:

you gotta go to mbs.com to check out Ellie.

Kasim:

If you're in Boston, go check out two of the brick and mortar stores.

Kasim:

I'll make sure to include links to the website, the YouTube channel,

Kasim:

in the description of this video, Ellie, super grateful to you, man.

Kasim:

thank you for being here.

Kasim:

Thanks.

Kasim:

Awesome.

Kasim:

This was fun.

Kasim:

Awesome.

Kasim:

And we shoot a video every day, like come and subscribe.

Kasim:

You know how your YouTube works.
